OUR EXPERIENCE

Jason and I had the opportunity to experience Sandals Grenada in October 2019. We went from October 10 to October 13, 2020, and flew out of Raleigh/Durham International Airport (RDU). Our flight left RDU at 7:07 a.m., so we had to leave our house around 4 a.m. American Airlines does have daily flights to and from Grenada, and we were on the only flight in. We had a quick layover in Miami, and soon, it was time to leave for the last leg of our flight around 11:20 a.m. We had no turbulence on the flight down and enjoyed our time in the air. The view from the sky was breathtaking and was a sight to see for sure.

The View from our Room

Soon, we landed in Grenada at the Maurice Bishop International Airport and went through customs. Soon, we were outside the airport waiting for our ride to the resort. Sandals Grenada is only a 5-minute drive from the airport; before you know it, you will be there. Once we arrived, we were greeted with ice-cold washcloths that smelled of lemon verbena, and soon we checked in. While checking in, we were offered glasses of champagne, which was terrific. Check-in is in an open area, and it’s a beautiful location.

THE VILLAGES

  • Pink Gin Village – This is where we stayed in a Beachfront Room on the 5th floor in room 1524. This village is one of the first and original villages of the resort. The Pink Gin Village has luxury & club-level rooms, and we can tell you the rooms have beautiful views.
  •  Italian Village – The Italian Village is located just behind Pink Gin Village. This village holds the Skypool rooms, and all the rooms have butlers. Need we say more about butlers? Having a butler is one of the best things you can have while on vacation. If you can’t find a place on the beach with an umbrella, have no fear; you can give your butler a spot ready for you in no time. The rooms with the Skypool are pretty spectacular.
  • South Seas Village – South Seas Village is located in a lush and beautiful landscape. They offer several room categories, including the unique Rondoval Suites with Tahitian-style Love Nest Butler Suites and their private pool. What more could you ask for when taking a romantic getaway or honeymoon?
  • Lovers Hideaway Village – Secluded along the Lover’s Lagoon are these rooms, which are luxury-level rooms—tucked away where you and your loved one can enjoy from two different room categories and offer a Tranquility Soaking Tubs for two on the patio or balcony.

Did you know Sandals Grenada has ten different restaurants you can try on vacation? Yes, and we ate at 7 of them while on this little getaway. The resort does offer 5-star global Gourmet, and we can tell you that the food was terrific. Let’s take a peek at what restaurants this resort has below.

  • Cafe de Paris – French pastry shop where you can try their Nutmeg Ice Cream and build your own crepe

  • Unlimited Land Activities – Play Table Tennis, Shuffleboards, Pool Table, Tennis Courts, Bocce Ball, Beach Volleyball and Boardgames at the resort.
